So what's going on with El Puente Home?

A lot, actually!

Rocio

Rocio has been in California for almost three months now. She's been taking English classes at Foothill College and helping out in countless after-school programs and volunteering opportunities.

Also teaching traditional Paraguayan dances!

(Trying to, at least...)

Though her stay in the U.S is slowly coming to an end, Rocio is excited about returning to El Puente Home and implement everything she's learned here.

Donations

Some unexpected and amazing donations were given to the Home in these past three weeks. My brother Juan Ignacio, his wife Valeria and my dad rallied up their friends via facebook to collect some items to take to El Puente. The response was overwhelming: clothes, shoes, cleaning supplies, toiletries, furniture, backpacks, books, non-perishable food and so much more!

Some pictures of when all the donations were delivered this past Easter weekend:

Additionally, we just got a donation of over 100 English textbooks from Cambridge University Press. We'll be using these to teach English on our next trip!

They just came in today:

Paraguay Trip 2014

Speaking of next trip, it is confirmed: we will be returning to El Puente Home this year for the third time! We will be taking a team the first two weeks of September to continue and expand the work we started in 2012, both with the girls at the Home as well as the local schools in the village.

Stay tuned for more updates and exciting news coming up shortly!
